SIGN PAINTING AGAIN...
Way below is a photo of me painting on the Country Store sign at Del'Osso Family Farms in the Mossdale "Y" area. I painted there last week. It was hard to shoot the picture using my left hand and continue painting with a brush held in my right.
SPRUCING UP FOR THE BACON FEST
What a place Del'Osso's has become! They have the Bacon Fest coming up soon -- on Father's Day weekend. I wonder how many tens of thousands of people will come in for all the festivities. Below is a link where you can read all about it.

A COUPLE OF PHOTOS
And here are my photos so you get an idea of what I was doing. Looks like I was working on the left side of the letter "T" in "store" when I was also shooting the picture.

Great to see the brushes being used again and the glitter of fresh paint :) Keep posting pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe glitter of fresh paint... YOU NOTICED. That's what it was all about. Hee. Hee.
ReplyDeleteWhat a steady hand! If it were me, there would be masking tape all over the place. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteHey... thanks, Betsy. About forty years ago an old sign painter told me that a brush is a very forgiving instrument. I believe him to be right. Do you paint with old style brushes... or are you painting digitally?
ReplyDeleteI can't digitally paint to save my life, but my real brush skills aren't much better. I took two classes at AAU that required real brushes and real paints (gouache, oils), but for both classes I could only manage a B- grade at best because I lacked the edge control needed for an A, or even a full B!
DeleteAs I mentioned over the phone, I'm trying to teach myself watercolor because some of the JLI students requested a watercolor class and like a fool I thought I could learn it well enough to teach it by July. Even though I haven't managed to do a completely nice piece yet, I'm starting to understand the medium a bit better. Each type of paint certainly has its own quirks and characteristics!
