Two Big, (Unexpected) Interruptions ...
It happened late on Wednesday... two big requests came into my email which I couldn't ignore...
"These requests," I thought, "will really stretch me! There's no way! I don't want to do these things."
I knew they'd derail my thinking and I just wanted to run away. I wanted to create some excuse -- stay free.
But, then again, I wanted to face up to them in a mature way -- like a capable workman. Isn't this just an example of how life asserts itself? Aren't these things going to happen from time to time?
So, the obligations have now been faced. It's Sunday night and they're all over. We've survived. I've survived.
Can I minimize what happened and get back to normal now? I want to get back to the quest this blog represents. How quickly can I get back on track?

Well, where did you leave off with your lettering designs? Wanna share some pictures? :D
ReplyDeleteI think you hit the bullseye of the problem, Melissa. I've been doing a lot of writing and sharing videos and such on this blog, but how much have I been working on my book this week? Zero hours. Zero MINUTES, even!
DeleteI'm meeting up with your parents today to have a motivation/brainstorm/blogging mastermind session. I think we'll have to establish a few ground rules for this blog as well.
Pictures, as you so brilliantly pointed out, are the simplest proof of ACTION. Perhaps we need a scheduled day or days, where we can only share pictures of what we're working on? Hmm...
I feel your pain. I have requests coming in all the time. Sometimes, I agonize for hours about how to refuse and feel guilty about it for the next few days. Other times, I just accept because it's easier to get it over it with.
ReplyDeleteI think once a nice momentum is gained on the blogs/websites/businesses, it'll be a little easier to deal with these kinds of incoming requests, and easier to switch focus gears right back into online business.
